Thousands of pilgrims gathered at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Timișoara to honor Saint Joseph of Partoș, the spiritual protector of the Banat region. The festivities included religious services led by Metropolitan Ioan Selejan and a traditional procession through the city streets to venerate the 17th-century Metropolitan’s reliquary.

Saint Joseph of Timișoara was a Serbian-born saint who served as Metropolitan of Timișoara starting in 1650. During the Ottoman era, he supported the Christian community and established a school for clergy training. After retiring to the Partoș Monastery, he passed away in 1656. His legacy is recognized by both the Romanian and Serbian Orthodox Churches, and his relics remain housed in the Timișoara cathedral.
