Sources: 6. Developments: 2. A Ventura County jury convicted four members of a family for operating a large-scale commercial sex and money laundering enterprise that lasted for more than a decade. The criminal ring, led by Xiangwei Ma, used massage parlors as fronts to exploit foreign nationals from China. Prosecutors established that the group laundered at least $1.25 million in illicit proceeds through various channels, including real estate transactions, casinos, life insurance policies, and financial institutions. Evidence indicated that while Xiangwei Ma was previously serving an 18-month prison sentence for attempted pimping, other family members managed the operations before she resumed leadership upon her release. The convicted individuals include Xiangwei Ma, her husband Ming Ma, her brother Xiangdong Ma, her sister Li Ma, and Jaime Calderon. The defendants are currently held in the Ventura County jail, with sentencing and potential asset seizures expected in late 2026. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-03: California family convicted in decade-long sexual exploitation ring Four family members were found guilty in California for operating a decade-long sexual exploitation ring using massage parlors and laundering $1.25 million in illicit funds. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/california-family-convicted-in-decade-long-sexual-exploitation-ring ### 2026-09-30: Ventura County family convicted in sex trafficking ring Four family members were convicted in Ventura County, California, for running a decade-long commercial sex operation and money laundering scheme using massage parlors as fronts. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ventura-county-family-convicted-in-sex-trafficking-ring --- Cite as: Ventura County sex trafficking ring convictions.
