Veszprém HC has continued its successful run at the IHF Men’s Club World Championship in Egypt, securing a third consecutive victory. After an initial 45-19 win against Sydney University and a 31-23 victory over Al Ahly, the Hungarian side faced Füchse Berlin in a highly competitive match.

Despite trailing 12–7 early in the game against the German Champions League runners-up, Veszprém equalized during the second half. The match was decided in the final seconds when Nedim Remili scored the winning goal with only six seconds remaining on the clock. Goalkeeper Emil Nielsen contributed ten saves, including a critical stop against Mathias Gidsel at the end of the match.

Key offensive contributors in the win against Berlin included Ahmed Hesam with eight goals and Ivan Martinovic with five. This victory marks Veszprém’s fifth win in eleven historical meetings against Füchse Berlin and moves the club closer to a potential appearance in the tournament final.

In the 34-33 victory, Veszprém mounted a second-half comeback to equalize at 24-24 after trailing at halftime. While Füchse Berlin’s Mathias Gidsel and Tobias Gröndahl each scored nine goals, and goalkeeper Lasse Ludwig was named player of the match for his 14 saves, the narrow loss effectively eliminates the German side from contention for the tournament final, likely relegating them to the third-place playoff.
