In Katerini, local football history is being commemorated through various veteran-led events.

On October 19, 2026, veteran players from Pierikos and PAOK are scheduled to participate in a charity friendly match at the 1st Municipal Sports Center to mark the 65th anniversary of Pierikos FC. The event includes an honorary ceremony to recognize former Pierikos players who transitioned to PAOK, such as Georgios Kostikos, Dionysios Chasiotis, Athanasios Baspanas, and Dimitrios Zavanias.

Additionally, a reunion for former players of AE Pontion Katerinis is planned for October 31. Led by original player Lazos Iakovidis, the gathering will take place at the Strada cafe in Englezikos to celebrate the club’s history and its role in developing professional players and coaches.
