Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training has launched an initiative to establish a group of 3–5 elite universities to enhance the competitiveness of the national higher education system. The first three institutions to register for this status are two National Universities and VinUni. The strategy focuses on public investment in doctoral training, STEM talent, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence, while implementing mechanisms to attract international experts. As part of this development, the government has assigned VinUni a strategic mission to achieve global academic recognition. Under a government decision, the university aims to rank within the top 100 in Asia and the top 300 globally by 2030.
