The Vietnamese government has finalized the holiday schedule for 2027. Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra approved a seven-day break for the Lunar New Year (Tet Dinh Mui) from February 4 to February 10, 2027, and a four-day National Day holiday from September 2 to September 5, 2027. For 2026, officials confirmed a single-day holiday for Vietnam Culture Day on November 24 without workday swaps.

During a regular government meeting addressing the third quarter of 2026, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung reiterated the necessity for robust solutions to reach double-digit growth targets. He highlighted risks posed by global volatility, specifically Middle East conflicts impacting energy prices and shifts in international monetary policies. Discussions also focused on national target programs and the disbursement of public investment.

In a related policy development, the government issued Resolution 303/NQ-CP, which establishes social and rental housing targets for provinces through 2030. This resolution assigns significant housing quotas to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
