Social policy credit programs in Vietnam are being utilized to drive local economic development and poverty reduction through targeted lending.

In Lac Thuy, preferential credit from the Social Policy Bank reached 171.6 billion VND in the first nine months of 2026, serving 2,372 customers. This represents a 158% increase compared to the previous year, specifically supporting poor and near-poor households in developing their economies and creating employment for 323 workers.

Similarly, in Lao Cai Province, the Social Policy Bank disbursed 990.194 billion VND through job creation loan programs during the same period. These funds supported 10,220 customers, allowing households and businesses to invest in machinery, materials, and livestock to expand production and reduce the necessity for seasonal labor migration.
