In October 2026, various cultural events were organized to promote Vietnamese heritage and strengthen community ties. In Vladivostok, Russia, the Consulate General of Vietnam hosted the first ‘Vietnam Day in the Far East 2026’ on October 3. Consul General Nguyen Viet Kien highlighted the region's strategic importance and the deep historical ties between Vietnam and Russia, noting that President Ho Chi Minh visited Vladivostok on three occasions. The event featured musical performances by students from the Far Eastern Federal University, an ‘Ao dai Festival’ showcasing traditional garments, and presentations on Vietnam’s economic and tourism potential.

In Japan, multiple initiatives were launched to engage the overseas Vietnamese community. In Fukuoka, the Consulate General announced the second Great National Unity Day and a Vietnamese Culture Day for November 24. This program, themed ‘Great Unity - Integration - Preserving Vietnamese Culture - Towards the Homeland,’ includes the creation of a ‘Vietnamese Village’ to serve as a miniature cultural space for the Kyushu and Okinawa regions. 

Additionally, the ‘Vietnam Heart Festival 2026’ was held in Osaka, organized by the Global Vietnam-Japan Cultural Promotion Organization with support from the Consulate General in Osaka and local governments. The festival featured the inaugural ‘Vietnam Heart Star’ awards to honor overseas Vietnamese for their cultural contributions. Organizers also used the festival to launch a campaign for Vietnam Cultural Day on November 24, encouraging the diaspora to act as ‘cultural ambassadors’ through traditional clothing, language, and cuisine.
