The Vigezzina Centovalli Railway, a scenic route connecting Italy and Switzerland, has expanded its travel offerings by integrating the Stockhorn peak into its itineraries. 

As part of the ‘Alpine Green Train’ project, travelers can now use integrated tickets to combine rail travel with a cable car ascent to the 2,190-meter summit in the Bernese Prealps. The route allows passengers to travel from locations as far as Domodossola, Italy, through the Simplon pass and into the Bernese Oberland via Spiez. From Spiez, regional trains connect to Erlenbach im Simmental, providing access to the cable car. 

These new excursion options, which became available in mid-September 2026, aim to provide easier access to the summit and offer panoramic views of Lake Thun, the Simme Valley, and the Jura mountains.
