Sources: 37. Developments: 6. Arsenal striker Viktor Gyökeres is reportedly considering a departure during the upcoming January transfer window due to limited playing time. Despite a successful previous season where he scored 21 goals to help Arsenal secure the Premier League title, the 28-year-old has seen his role diminished as Kai Havertz has become the preferred choice under manager Mikel Arteta. Gyökeres has expressed frustration regarding his lack of match opportunities. While he recently scored a winning goal for Sweden in a 2-1 UEFA Nations League victory against Romania, he continues to struggle for a starting role at the club level. An opportunity for more minutes may arise as Havertz undergoes medical tests for a muscle strain sustained while playing for Germany. As the 2026/27 campaign progresses, Gyökeres has seen his involvement drop further, totaling only 29 Premier League minutes to date. While he has found form internationally, scoring twice in two matches for Sweden against Romania and Poland, his club situation remains uncertain. Although transfer interest from Serie A and the Saudi Pro League persists, Gyökeres has stated that an exit from Arsenal was “never under serious consideration.” However, the striker has faced criticism from former Arsenal defender Armand Traore, who claimed he lacks the ‘killer instinct’ and ‘aura’ of legendary players such as Thierry Henry or Didier Drogba. Arsenal previously indicated they would only consider a permanent transfer, with financial demands expected to exceed €70 million. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-30: Viktor Gyokeres seeks more playing time at Arsenal Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres is pushing for more playing time after a slow start to the season, despite recent goalscoring form with the Sweden national team. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/viktor-gyokeres-seeks-more-playing-time-at-arsenal ### 2026-09-27: Viktor Gyökeres expresses frustration over Arsenal playing time Arsenal striker Viktor Gyökeres has admitted frustration over his lack of playing time, despite recent success with the Swedish national team and a previous title-winning season with the club. 9 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/viktor-gykeres-expresses-frustration-over-limited-minutes-at-arsenal ### 2026-09-24: Arsenal striker Viktor Gyökeres faces criticism and transfer tension Former Arsenal defender Armand Traore has criticized striker Viktor Gyökeres for lacking ‘killer instinct,’ while the player's agent reportedly seeks a meeting over limited playing time. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/arsenal-striker-viktor-gykeres-faces-criticism-and-transfer-tension ### 2026-09-24: Galatasaray targets Viktor Gyökeres amid January transfer plans Galatasaray is targeting Arsenal forward Viktor Gyökeres for a potential January move and plans to sign three new players to bolster its midfield and defense during the winter transfer window. 8 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/galatasaray-targets-viktor-gykeres-amid-january-transfer-plans ### 2026-09-21: Viktor Gyokeres linked to January exit from Arsenal Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly eyeing a January exit due to reduced playing time, with AC Milan, Juventus, and Saudi Arabian clubs showing interest in the Swedish international. 10 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/viktor-gykeres-faces-potential-arsenal-exit-amid-transfer-interest ### 2026-09-18: Viktor Gyokeres explores Arsenal exit amid limited playing time Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres is exploring a potential exit due to reduced playing time, with Juventus, AC Milan, Al-Ahli, and Al-Ittihad reportedly showing interest. 10 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/viktor-gyokeres-may-leave-arsenal-in-january-transfer-window --- Cite as: Viktor Gyökeres potential Arsenal departure.
