Villanova University athletics transitioned from nonconference scheduling to BIG EAST conference play in September 2026.

During the nonconference period, the men’s soccer team maintained an unbeaten record and a notable defensive streak, having not yet conceded a goal. The football team was also scheduled for competition against Long Island University.

As conference play commenced, the women’s soccer team secured a 2-0 victory over St. John’s at the Higgins Soccer Complex. The Wildcats broke a scoreless tie in the 27th minute and added a second goal via Dez Zapata in the 67th minute. In field hockey, Villanova earned its first BIG EAST win of the season with a 4-1 victory over Temple, with goals from Ava Borkowski, Katharina Balk, Molly Zimmerman, and Esmee De Lange, bringing the season record to 6-3.

In volleyball, the Wildcats hold a 7-6 record and are scheduled to host BIG EAST matches against the Providence Friars and the UConn Huskies at Jake Nevin Fieldhouse. Despite struggles at the start of conference play, the team enters the weekend as one of only 73 Division I teams that remain undefeated when playing at home.
