Developments: 2. Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany remains hospitalized after collapsing while observing a reserve team training session at the Säbener Strasse training ground. Emergency services, including a rescue helicopter, responded to the incident. Kompany had reportedly been dealing with a viral infection and a hip issue in the week leading up to the collapse. His father, Pierre Kompany, attributed the health crisis to the manager’s intense work ethic, noting that the coach often works up to 18 hours a day. Sporting director Max Eberl confirmed that Kompany is in stable condition and showing positive signs of improvement, though he remains under medical supervision for diagnostic tests to determine if the incident was linked to his recent viral infection. Eberl emphasized that the club will not rush his return, stating, “We won't talk about days, but about weeks.” To protect the 40-year-old Belgian professional from stress, the club has issued a strict directive to all visitors, including club officials, prohibiting any discussions regarding football during his hospital stay. Eberl has also reflected on the extreme pressure inherent in professional football, noting his own history with burnout. In Kompany’s absence, assistant coach Aaron Danks has taken over first-team responsibilities. Under Danks' leadership, Bayern Munich secured a 3-1 away victory against SC Freiburg, with goals from Dayot Upamecano, Serge Gnabry, and Michael Olise. The win moves Bayern to the top of the Bundesliga table alongside Borussia Dortmund. Following the match, Danks revealed that Kompany sent a brief WhatsApp message to the staff saying, “Well done,” expressing his satisfaction with the result. Serge Gnabry’s goal during the match marked his 100th Bundesliga goal. ## Claims - Werder Bremen defeated FSV Mainz 05 with a score of 3-2.
