Healthcare professionals in Italy are experiencing a rise in physical aggression and threats within hospital environments.

In the Como region, two separate incidents occurred at Sant’Anna Hospital in San Fermo della Battaglia within a 30-hour period. The first involved a 30-year-old man under the influence of narcotics who attacked staff in the emergency room, leading to his arrest for aggression, threats, and interruption of public service. A second incident took place in the psychiatry ward, where a 67-year-old man was arrested after attacking staff following a denied request.
