A series of violent incidents has been reported in Zamora, Michoacán. On October 5, four municipal police officers were detained following an investigation into an armed attack at the El Nuevo Quijote bar. The attack resulted in five deaths and two injuries. The Fiscalía General del Estado suspects the officers of aggravated robbery and illicit exercise of public service, noting that the crime scene appeared altered and surveillance equipment had been removed. Authorities also found a firearm and stolen property in the officers’ patrol vehicle.

On October 22, armed, hooded individuals conducted a robbery at a BBVA bank branch in the Jardinadas neighborhood.
