In early October 2026, suspected Fulani gunmen conducted a series of attacks in Kaduna state, Nigeria, targeting Christian communities through killings and abductions. On October 1, violence in Ungwan Waziri village resulted in the death of a Christian man and the kidnapping of several individuals, including a nine-year-old boy.

On October 5 and 6, assailants entered the Rahusa Estate area of Millennium City in Chikun County, abducting five Christians and a six-month-old infant. One specific victim, Ahmed Abubakar Zakka, was abducted alongside his wife and three-month-old daughter. A video released on social media showed an armed man threatening Zakka, who pleaded for help, noting that the kidnappers’ ransom demand of ₦300 million to ₦350 million was beyond his financial means.

In response to the Millennium City abductions, political figures including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and lawmaker Mohammed Bello El-Rufai called for urgent security intervention. The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) also appealed to President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Defence to mobilize security forces and intelligence operations to secure the victims' release.
