Violence in Jacona, Michoacán, escalated from targeted shootouts during law enforcement operations to broader regional instability involving multiple fatalities.

In mid-September, a confrontation occurred in the El Bosque neighborhood when agents attempting to execute an arrest warrant for a homicide suspect were attacked with gunfire. The shootout resulted in injuries to two state investigators and the suspect, though the suspect was ultimately detained.

By October, the region experienced a surge in violence that left six people dead and three injured. This included an attack on a Civil Protection patrol that killed two municipal officers and one civilian. In response to these incidents, authorities held a memorial for fallen officers and expanded security operations into neighboring Zamora. These coordinated efforts involving the Mexican Army and National Guard have led to the seizure of weapons, ammunition, and narcotics in the area.
