Gunmen targeted the ancestral home of Punjabi singer and lyricist Gulab Sidhu in Farwahi village, Barnala district. CCTV footage showed three masked individuals on a motorcycle firing approximately six to eight rounds at the residence gate. 

Sidhu was in Australia at the time of the attack, but his family members were present inside the house; no injuries were reported. Sidhu, an associate of the late singer Sidhu Moosewala, had previously received security personnel due to extortion attempts and death threats. 

Barnala police are investigating the incident by reviewing CCTV footage and mobile tower data. A fugitive gangster, Balwinder Singh (alias Doni Bal), reportedly claimed responsibility for the shooting via an audio clip on social media, though authorities are working to verify the claim.
