Vipps MobilePay is implementing a rebranding strategy to unify its mobile payment services across the Nordic region, including Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Greenland. The transition aims to establish a single brand to compete with global financial technology firms.

The rebranding follows the 2022 merger between MobilePay and Vipps. The process is being executed in two stages: an immediate introduction of a new smiley-shaped app icon, followed by the official name change to Vipps on January 12. 

While the visual identity is shifting, the app’s core functionality and user data will remain unchanged. To maintain local recognition, the app will retain its blue color scheme in Denmark and Finland, while remaining orange in Norway and Sweden.
