The Municipality of Viseu has announced several local initiatives focused on infrastructure and social support.

During Municipality Day celebrations, Mayor João Azevedo announced a planned investment of approximately one million euros to modernize the Paços do Concelho building. The project seeks to improve conditions for citizens and employees, with the municipality preparing a candidacy for government funding to support the requalification.

Additionally, the municipality has opened applications for 20 scholarships intended to support students in music, dance, and theatre for the 2026/2027 academic year. These scholarships are split between the Conservatório Regional de Música de Viseu Dr. José de Azeredo Perdigão and the Escola de Dança Lugar Presente to assist with the financial burden of performing arts training.
