Efforts to improve accessibility and social inclusion for individuals with visual impairments have been highlighted across several Latin American regions.

In Chile, initiatives include the distribution of low vision identifiers by the Fundación Hacer Visible lo Invisible to help the public recognize unnoticed visual impairments. Additionally, the Central Library for the Blind (BCC) continues to provide Braille printing, digital audiobooks, and computer workshops, supported by a large volunteer network. The BCC also manages the ‘Sello Naranja’ program to assist companies in improving services for those with low vision.

In Cuba, the National Rehabilitation Center in Bejucal has undergone construction updates and is reopening to train instructors, aiming to expand rehabilitation and social tools to communities nationwide.

In Mexico, the municipal government in Gómez Palacio implemented the ‘Ver para Creer’ program, which provided Braille literacy and digital tool training to approximately 150 public officials to better serve the visually impaired community.
