Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell has announced that his cancer has returned following an unsuccessful donor stem cell transplant. Campbell, who was originally diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2013, underwent the transplant in January 2025 after a decline in health during the winter of 2023.

Campbell confirmed that the procedure “didn’t stick” and he is currently undergoing treatments to manage the disease while evaluating medical alternatives. He indicated that he may require another transplant with a different donor in the coming years. Despite the setback, the musician expressed his intention to continue his professional work with Def Leppard and his side project, Last In Line.
