Tierra del Fuego is implementing various educational and vocational training initiatives aimed at different sectors of the population.

In mid-August 2026, the Expo Carreras y Oficios 2026 event traveled through Río Grande, Tolhuin, and Ushuaia to provide youth with information regarding academic and technical opportunities. The seventh edition of the event attracted more than 4,000 students and families, bringing together over 50 institutes and universities alongside representatives from more than 40 secondary schools. These programs offer various academic and vocational paths through in-person, virtual, and hybrid modalities. To support these efforts, the Provincial Government launched a web platform aggregating educational proposals, which has grown to feature over 700 academic and trade offerings.

Concurrently, specialized training programs have been introduced for specific labor sectors. RENATRE, in collaboration with UATRE and local public agencies, is conducting safety and emergency training for rural workers. Recent sessions, such as those at the ‘Buenos Aires’ establishment, have focused on first aid, CPR, and fire extinguisher use. Additionally, a new course for wire-stretchers (Alambrador) is beginning in Río Grande to promote traditional rural trades. To further professionalize emergency services, the Firefighters Academy of the Tierra del Fuego Volunteer Firefighters Federation has initiated a seminar series titled ‘Preservation of a Fire Scene’ to standardize technical procedures across provincial fire stations, beginning with training at the Zona Norte Volunteer Firefighters Station.
