Volcan Compañía Minera has announced plans for its Romina polymetallic project in Huaral, Peru, projecting operations to continue through 2038. The company intends to integrate the Romina site with its Alpamarca unit in Junín to optimize infrastructure. 

This integration involves both underground and open-pit operations, with minerals being transported to the Alpamarca concentrator plant. The project requires an initial capital expenditure of US$115 million, alongside annual sustaining capital expenditures ranging from US$6 million to US$8 million. To accommodate the high-grade ore from Romina, the Alpamarca plant is undergoing upgrades, with the new capacity expected to be operational by February 2027.
