Investigations into the ‘Vračar clan’ organized crime group have uncovered extensive criminal activities involving murder, kidnapping, and plots to acquire chemical weapons.

An indictment against clan leader Nikola Vušović, based on Sky ECC messages, details plans to use the nerve agent ‘Novichok’ to silence a witness after previous attempts with cyanide failed. The indictment also links the group to the 2018 killing of Vladimir Popović Pop and various bombings in Belgrade.

Subsequent investigations have expanded to include the kidnappings and killings of Milan Stoković and Živko Bakić. Authorities suspect the clan used the kidnapping of Stoković as a tactic to lure Filip Ivanović, a high-ranking member of the ‘Škaljar clan’, into a fatal ambush in Belgrade.

The Public Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime has launched an investigation against 12 members of the group. The suspects face charges including criminal association, murder, kidnapping, and the illegal production and trafficking of weapons, explosives, and narcotics. The investigation covers the October 2025 kidnapping and murder of Milan Stoković in Požarevac and the January 2026 murder of Živko Bakić in Belgrade.

While several individuals are currently in custody in Belgrade, North Macedonia, Greece, and Belgium, others remain at large. During hearings, suspect Aleksandar Nikolić admitted to participating in the crimes and assisted in identifying other group members. Prosecutors have requested detention for all suspects and international arrest warrants for those currently in flight.
