The city of Vsetín has completed a major infrastructure overhaul centered on its transport systems. Following five years of construction and approximately 4 billion CZK in total investments, the city has opened a new modern transport hub that integrates rail, bus, automotive, and pedestrian traffic.

The project included the construction of a new bus station costing over 200 million CZK, supported by regional and European funds. This new facility allows for direct transfers between trains and buses at a shared platform. 

As part of the transition, the city implemented a significant public transport reorganization, which included re-routing services, renumbering lines, and introducing “on-demand stops” to improve traffic flow and reduce emissions. The broader urban transformation also involved reconstructed streets, new cycling infrastructure, and the creation of the Josef Sousedík educational trail.
