A legal dispute over shared assets between Vu Thuy Hong Ngoc and Chiem Quoc Thai, Director of Viet My Aesthetic Hospital, has moved into the appeals stage following a court ruling in Ho Chi Minh City.

The initial ruling by the People's Court of Area 2 granted Ms. Ngoc approximately 743.3 million VND for her contribution to two apartments, while rejecting her broader claims for hundreds of billions in other assets due to insufficient evidence. The court also partially accepted a counterclaim by Mr. Thai, ordering Ms. Ngoc to repay him roughly 301,904 USD.

Both parties have since filed appeals. Ms. Ngoc is contesting the entire verdict, arguing it was not “objective or accurate” and infringed upon her legal rights. Mr. Thai has filed a partial appeal, seeking compensation of 8 billion VND for damages he claims resulted from Ms. Ngoc’s request for interim property measures.
