Tourism facilities in the Wakura Onsen area are undergoing reconstruction and reopening following the Noto Peninsula earthquake.

Kagaya, a prominent ryokan that had been closed due to significant structural damage and seawater intrusion, has held a ground-breaking ceremony for a new seven-story wing designed by architect Kengo Kuma. This project aims to resume operations by the end of fiscal year 2028.

Additionally, the Shirasagi-no-yu Noto Kaishu facility resumed operations on July 16 after a long-term closure. The site now includes a photo exhibition in collaboration with the ‘Reiwa 6 Noto Peninsula Earthquake Archive’ to document the disaster and the recovery process.
