Prosecutors allege that Beatty killed the infant in a jealous rage regarding the child’s biological father. Authorities state that Beatty attempted to frame his young, nonverbal, autistic son for the attack during a 911 call, claiming the child had attacked the baby. However, investigators determined the severity of the blunt force injuries, which included head trauma and multiple fractures, was inconsistent with being caused by a child.

Court filings further indicate that Beatty had allegedly threatened the infant’s mother regarding the safety of the children approximately one week before the homicide.
