The No. 19 ranked Washington Huskies hosted the Utah State Aggies in a college football matchup at Husky Stadium. Washington entered the game with a 1-0 record, while Utah State sought to recover from an opening loss.

Washington secured a 16-14 victory, improving to 2-0. The Huskies' scoring included a one-yard touchdown dive by freshman Ansu Sanoe and a 26-yard field goal by Tyler Robles. Quarterback Demond Williams Jr. completed 26 of 41 passes for 249 yards and 56 rushing yards, becoming the third quarterback in program history to surpass 1,000 career rushing yards.

Utah State fell to 0-2 despite a late fourth-quarter touchdown pass from Grady Brosterhous to Eli Wood. The Aggies' final drive was halted by a goal-line interception as time expired. Following the game, head coach Jedd Fisch stated that the team has “significant areas to improve” after two weeks of struggling.

Despite maintaining an undefeated 2-0 start following a 24-10 win over Washington State and the victory over Utah State, the Huskies have fallen out of the Associated Press Top 25 rankings. They moved from 17th to 19th before exiting the poll entirely, leading the ‘others receiving votes’ category with 172 points.

Performance concerns have intensified regarding the team’s offensive line and a struggling rushing attack. Injuries to running backs Quaid Carr and Jayden Limar have forced a reliance on freshman Brian Bonner Jr. and Ansu Sanoe. The lack of offensive dominance and inconsistent pass protection have led to scrutiny of head coach Jedd Fisch’s roster management.
