In the Patía municipality of Colombia, more than 6,000 residents across 20 villages and nearby areas have experienced a potable water shortage lasting over a month. Community leaders reported that the lack of water has hindered drinking, cooking, and hygiene, prompting threats to block the Pan-American Highway if the issue is not resolved.

In response, a technical table was convened involving the Cauca Governor's Office, Emcaservicios, the Cauca Regional Autonomous Corporation (CRC), the Ombudsman's Office, the Attorney General, and municipal authorities. Emcaservicios manager Jorge Alberto Macías Rosero was expected to present remediation schedules to address the shortage and secure community commitments.
