As weather instability increased, a new yellow weather alert was issued for Genoa, effective from 10:00 to 23:59 on Thursday, August 20, due to forecasted thunderstorms. 

In response to the thunderstorm forecast, the Municipal Civil Protection Plan has been activated. Authorities have ordered the closure of all construction sites and excavations in torrent beds. Furthermore, pedestrian access to the Passo Carlineo walkway on the Chiaravagna torrent is prohibited.
