NASCAR race weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway has faced significant disruptions due to inclement weather caused by Hurricane Isaias. Persistent rain led to the cancellation of practice and qualifying sessions for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.

As a result of these cancellations, starting lineups for the Blue Cross NC 300 were determined using the NASCAR metric formula, which accounts for recent race finishes and championship points. Under this arrangement, Carson Kvapil was set to start from the pole position. While race schedules were being managed, ongoing weather conditions remained a potential threat to the event.
