Chiba Prefecture has experienced various disruptions due to severe weather conditions. In late September, Typhoon 25 caused record-breaking rainfall, leading to flooding and landslides. This natural disaster prompted the prefecture’s mascot, Chiba-kun, to suspend all activities outside the prefecture following social media criticism regarding its presence in Osaka during the crisis.

By late October, weather forecasts predicting rain led to the cancellation of several outdoor events within the prefecture. These included the Tenna Bon Odori festival in Ichikawa City and the Halloween Market in Chiba, with organizers citing safety concerns for attendees and organizers.
