West Ham United players have recently returned to club duties following international breaks and periods of absence.

Mexican midfielder Edson Álvarez returned to action as a substitute in a closed-door friendly against Wycombe Wanderers after a two-month absence. His absence followed unsuccessful attempts to secure a transfer to clubs such as Olympiakos and Ajax after the team’s relegation to the Championship.

Álvarez has since made his first social media appearance in 74 days, sharing 14 Instagram posts containing reflective messages about the impact of social media on society and showcasing a new tattoo. He also appeared in a group photograph released by West Ham United during a ceremony recognizing the manager and player of the month, amid growing expectations regarding his return to official competition.

Concurrently, winger Edvin Austbø returned to the club after completing international duty with the Norway Under-21 side. His return coincides with reports that the club is interested in recruiting Norwegian defensive midfielder Tobias Moi, a former teammate of Austbø.
