During the 76th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the World Health Organization launched the Regional Health Data Hub (RDHUB). This digital platform is designed to centralize fragmented health information from 47 Member States to support evidence-based decision-making.

The hub utilizes advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to provide real-time epidemiological forecasting. Its digital environment includes interactive dashboards and maps covering sectors such as infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, and maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health. The initiative aims to help governments identify vulnerable populations and facilitate more effective resource distribution.

In addition to the data hub, regional leaders discussed strengthening continental health security through cross-border collaboration, a Mpox vaccine stockpile mechanism, and efforts toward pharmaceutical sovereignty to reduce dependence on external supplies.
