Authorities and experts have issued warnings regarding the risks associated with foraging wild mushrooms following increased growth due to recent rainfall. 

In Turkey, Professor Aysun Pekşen of Ondokuz Mayıs University warned that while many wild mushrooms are edible, certain species can be lethal, potentially causing liver and kidney failure or death. 

In Catalonia, emergency services issued safety precautions following the death of a 72-year-old man in Sant Joan de les Abadesses. While authorities suggested natural causes for the individual's death, firefighters urged the public to exercise extreme caution in forests, recommending that foragers check weather forecasts, carry sufficient supplies, and avoid foraging alone.
