Reports from various Italian localities have highlighted growing concerns regarding public safety and wildlife presence in residential areas.

In Manfredonia, unconfirmed social media reports described an individual dressed as a cat chasing pedestrians with a knife, causing apprehension among residents. In Cagli, sightings of wolves and large groups of wild boars entering gardens and residential areas have sparked local debate over the balance between wildlife protection and public safety.

By mid-September, the issue of wild boar incursions intensified in the Sant’Antonio district of Catanzaro. Residents reported large groups of animals, sometimes numbering between 15 and 30 individuals, appearing nightly. These animals have been overturning trash bins and scattering waste, leading to calls for urgent intervention to manage the animals and restore urban decorum and security.
