Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros faced uncertainty regarding his availability for the East Semi-Final against the Toronto Argonauts following a rib injury sustained during the regular-season finale against the B.C. Lions. Due to the injury, backup quarterback Dru Brown started the game in place of Collaros. In the East Division semifinal held at BMO Field, the Blue Bombers defeated the Toronto Argonauts 25-22. Brown finished the contest with 206 passing yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. The decisive play occurred with 44 seconds remaining, when Brown threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Nick Demski, followed by a successful two-point conversion. Despite committing four turnovers, Winnipeg secured the win, aided by a fumble recovery on a punt return by former Argonaut Thiadric Hansen. The Argonauts' performance was hindered by a shoulder injury to starting quarterback Chad Kelly, who exited the game in the third quarter. While Kelly had completed 18 of 30 passes for 193 yards and one touchdown, his replacement, Nick Arbuckle, struggled to impact the game. Winnipeg will now advance to the East final to face the Montreal Alouettes. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-29: Winnipeg Blue Bombers defeat Toronto Argonauts in CFL East semifinal The Winnipeg Blue Bombers defeated the Toronto Argonauts 25-22 in the CFL East semifinal, led by a late touchdown pass from Dru Brown to Nick Demski. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/dru-brown-to-start-for-winnipeg-blue-bombers-in-cfl-semifinal ### 2026-10-27: Winnipeg Blue Bombers monitor Zach Collaros' rib injury Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros is uncertain for the East Semi-Final against Toronto due to a rib injury, leaving backup Dru Brown to lead practice repetitions. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/winnipeg-blue-bombers-monitor-zach-collaros-rib-injury --- Cite as: Winnipeg Blue Bombers advance after East semifinal win.
