The election period in Winnipeg involves both administrative processes and student activism. Advance voting for civic and school board elections began in mid-October at various locations, including City Hall and several shopping centres, with voters required to provide valid identification.

As the election period progressed, students organized a rally at the Notre Dame Community Centre to advocate for the right to vote in school trustee elections. Led by youth organizers, the movement argues that students should have a voice in decisions regarding education priorities and budgets. Concurrently, trustee candidates have begun forming working groups to address regional issues such as pedestrian safety and safe routes to school.
