The Winnipeg Jets began their season with a series of victories, including an initial 3-2 win against the Detroit Red Wings featuring power-play goals from Kyle Connor and physical play from rookie Tyrel Bauer.

Building on that momentum, the Jets secured a third consecutive 3-2 victory against the Colorado Avalanche. Kyle Connor continued his scoring streak by netting two goals, including the tie-breaking goal with one minute remaining in regulation, bringing his season total to five goals in four games.

During the win over Colorado, goaltender Stuart Skinner made 32 saves to withstand an Avalanche attack that outshot Winnipeg in the opening period. However, the victory was tempered by an injury to defenseman Josh Morrissey, who was ruled out for the remainder of the game after sustaining an upper-body injury late in the first period.
