The city of Świnoujście has implemented a new resident card system, known as ‘Karta Wyspiarza’, which offers municipal benefits such as free daily parking for three hours, weekend parking, and public transport discounts. 

While the system provides a traditional QR code card, there is a strong preference for the mobile application, which is used by 76.5% of the over 10,000 residents currently utilizing the service. The digital platform also functions as a communication tool for emergency notifications and city events. Due to high demand for the new system, the deadline for residents to exchange their old cards has been extended by four months to December 31, 2026.
