The University of Wisconsin men's basketball team began their season with two consecutive victories. In their season opener, the Badgers defeated Denver 75-68 at the Kohl Center. Although the team held a 17-point lead, they faced a second-half struggle characterized by poor shooting. Braeden Carrington, Eian Elmer, and Owen Foxwell provided key scoring to secure the win.

Wisconsin followed this with a 73-64 victory over Delaware, improving their season record to 2-0. The team utilized a balanced offense, with Carrington and Foxwell each scoring 16 points. Despite a scoring drought late in the game and a comeback attempt by Delaware, Wisconsin maintained control through rebounding and capitalizing on turnovers.
