The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2027 mini-auction is scheduled for October 28 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Kochi, Kerala, starting at 5:30 PM IST. The auction will feature 146 players competing for 27 available slots, including 20 positions for Indian players and 7 for overseas recruits.

Franchises enter the event with differing financial capacities: the UP Warriorz reportedly hold the largest remaining budget, while the Mumbai Indians must complete their squad with the lowest available funds. High-profile players such as England’s Sophia Dunkley and Australia’s Sophie Molineux have registered with a base price of ₹50 lakh. The auction pool contains 119 Indian players and 27 overseas players.

Strategic interests remain focused on specific roles. Mumbai Indians are reportedly looking to address gaps in their opening pair and spin department, with experts suggesting they may target wicketkeeper-batter Sushma Verma. Other players under consideration for various rosters include Amanjot Kaur and S Sajana.

Emerging domestic talent continues to draw attention. Teenagers such as 16-year-old batter Ira Jadhav, who recently scored an unbeaten 346 in the Women’s Under-19 One Day Trophy, and 15-year-old Uma Kashvi are listed with a base price of ₹10 lakh. The fifth season of the WPL is scheduled to run from January 14 to February 7, 2027.
