World Aquatics has announced the competition schedule for the 2027 swimming season, which includes both open water and pool disciplines. The open water swimming World Cup is scheduled to travel through Mexico, Egypt, Italy, and Portugal, concluding in Setúbal five weeks before the World Championships in Budapest. Success in the 10km events will provide qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

In pool swimming, the 2027 World Cup series will be hosted in Berlin, Paris, and London. These events are significant as they serve as the exclusive qualification pathway for six new 50-meter sprint disciplines being added to the Los Angeles Olympic program: the men’s and women’s 50m backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. To meet Olympic standards, these World Cup sessions will transition from the typical 25-meter format to 50-meter pools.

Additionally, the German Swimming Federation has scheduled several 5km pool races in early 2027 across Düsseldorf, Lübeck, Magdeburg, and München to serve as official German Championships.
