The second edition of the World Music and Tourism Festival (FMMT) was scheduled to take place in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, from October 8 to October 10, 2026. Organized in collaboration with UN Tourism, the event aims to promote the DRC as a destination for cultural tourism and attract international investment. The festival lineup includes Congolese rumba and soukous legends such as Mbilia Bel, Ferré Gola, Werrason, and Sam Mangwana.

Upon the festival’s launch, Vice-Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Lihau stated that the event serves as a “bridge between peoples,” highlighting the nation’s diverse heritage and traditions. Tourism Minister Didier Manzenga encouraged artists and media professionals to serve as ambassadors for Congolese identity. The initiative is part of a broader vision to use culture and music for economic diversification and the valuation of national heritage.
