# World Sailing championships in New Zealand

The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) has been selected to host two major sailing events in Auckland, New Zealand, in November 2027. These include the World Sailing Youth Match Racing World Championship and the World Sailing Women’s Match Racing World Championship.

The competitions will be held on Waitematā Harbour, with the youth event scheduled for 15–20 November and the women’s event following from 22–26 November. The hosting is supported by Auckland Council Events and coincides with the 40th anniversary of the RNZYS Youth Training Programme. World Sailing officials stated that combining these events into a single racing window is intended to “increase visibility and collaboration for youth and women’s match racing disciplines.”
