Various European nations are preparing delegations for the WorldSkills 2026 competition in Shanghai, scheduled for September 22 to 27.

Austria is sending a 48-person delegation, including several members with prior international experience from EuroSkills 2025. Notable competitors include refrigeration and air conditioning technician Jonas Danninger and hotel receptionist Elena Mathis.

Germany is also participating with a 36-member delegation. Among the representatives is Hannes Wirsing, an automotive mechatronics specialist who won the national championship in Koblenz. Wirsing will be coached by former world champion Stefan Mißbach to compete in technical tasks involving repairs and system calibration.
