The professional future of Belgian defender Wout Faes transitioned from a stalled loan negotiation in Belgium to a permanent transfer in the United Arab Emirates.

Initially, Leicester City attempted to arrange a one-season loan for Faes to their sister club, OH Leuven, in the Jupiler Pro League. This move was delayed by financial disagreements, as Leicester requested that OH Leuven cover 50 percent of his salary, a figure that exceeded the Belgian club’s typical wage structure.

Following this period of uncertainty, Faes completed a permanent transfer from Leicester City to Shabab Al Ahli Club in the UAE Pro League. Leicester City released a statement thanking the player for his service, noting he made 136 appearances for the club. Faes, valued at approximately 10 million euros, joins the UAE side to play under coach André Jardine.
