The WTA 250 Chennai Open at the SDAT Tennis Stadium began with preparations for the singles main draw featuring a contingent of Indian players, including Vaishnavi Adkar, Sahaja Yamalapalli, and 17-year-old wild card Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi. The tournament draw saw revisions due to injury withdrawals from second seed Lilli Tagger and ninth seed Harriet Dart.

While play was originally scheduled to begin on Monday, persistent rain caused a complete washout, delaying the commencement of the main draw until Tuesday. The event features a prize purse of US$283,347 and is scheduled to continue through November 8, 2026.
