A suspected American air-dropped bomb from World War II was discovered in the water near Falmouth Docks in Cornwall. The discovery triggered a multi-agency emergency response involving the Royal Navy, Devon and Cornwall Police, and HM Coastguard.

To ensure public safety, authorities established a safety cordon that expanded to approximately 750–755 metres, covering both land and sea. This led to the evacuation of roughly 336 to 339 households and caused significant local disruption, including the suspension of GWR train services between Falmouth Town and Falmouth.

Bomb disposal experts from Bravo Squadron successfully extracted the device, which was estimated to weigh between 113kg and 250kg. Following the removal, the ordnance was scheduled for disposal in deep water far out at sea, allowing residents to return to their homes and authorities to lift all cordons.
